Effie's Hunger Game Inspired Nails

Hi there - I have another Hunger Games mani for you today! If you have seen the movies... and have a nail obsession like myself - then I am sure you noticed Effie's nails in the movie! I was in love with her nails at the beginning of the movie when she was drawing names for the reaping, and I have been wanting to try them ever since I saw it. Below is a picture I found on Yahoo! images of Effie's nails, which inspired my mani today.

So, here is the version that I came up with!

My nails aren't the same shape as hers, which I think takes away from it a bit and it's not as soft of a gradient in between the colors. But regardless, I really like the color combo. To do this mani I started with two coats of Milani Cool Vibe with a coat of Seche Vite on top, below.

Then I took a piece of a faux sea sponge and used Ulta High Roller to sponge on the tips. Then I put a coat of Seche Vite on top to seal everything in. Thanks for looking!

Essence High Spirits

This is two coats of Essence High Spirits with a coat of Seche Vite on top. This is my first Essence polish, and I really like it! I picked this up for 99 cents at my local Ulta about a month ago, it's a mini bottle at .16 fl. oz. The formula was nice, and I really like the subtle silver shimmer in this color.

OPI NYC Ballet - My Pointe Exactly and Pirouette My Whistle

I wore this combination last week and was totally in love with it! This is two of the new polishes from OPI's NYC Ballet Collection. To do this mani I started with three coats of OPI My Pointe Exactly, with a coat of Seche Vite on top - below. The polish is really sheer, so I really needed all three coats, but the formula was really nice and not streaky at all. I wore this for a day by itself so I could enjoy the beauty of it! It's a pale grey jelly... and it just looked so squishy when I had it on! I was loving the finish of it... but I felt like sometimes it made my hands look a little pale. I guess I am just used to wearing more vibrant colors?

After having this on for a day I added a coat of OPI Pirouette My Whistle. I actually didn't even put a top coat on it, it may have been shinier if I had but I still liked it. It added enough to the mani that I no longer felt like my hands looked pale like I did when I was wearing My Pointe Exactly by itself.

Pastel Easter Skittles Stamp Mani

Whoa, that title is a mouthful... lol. This is the design I am wearing for Easter today!

To do this mani, starting with my thumb to my pinky is three coats of China Glaze Go-Go Pink, two coats of Zoya Megan, two coats of China Glaze For Audrey, two coats of Revlon Jaded and two coats of China Glaze Lemon Fizz. All of them have a coat of Seche Vite on top, below.

Then I used Konad Special Polish in White and Bundle Monster Plate BM-211 to stamp this design. I picked this design because it reminded me of little eggs. I think it could double as pebbles in a different color combination, I may need to try that...

Finally, after I had finished the mani I felt like it needed something else. I had debating throwing some flakies or holo glitter on it... but ended up picking out some different colored rhinestones and putting them on my ring finger for a cute accent nail. I am really loving these colors together. Thanks for looking!
