Rasta Tape Mani

My lovely readers! I am sorry I have been missing for so long. I just got back from vacation, and I had meant to get this post together before I left and to let you all know I would be missing for a few weeks. However, preparing for my trip, along with starting 2 new crazy/demanding 6-week Summer classes didn't quite allow that! Do you want to guess where I went? Here is a clue!

Yup - I went to Jamaica! My boyfriend Gary was born and raised in Jamaica, and we went back to visit his family and celebrate his 30th birthday - my entire family came along with us too. I was getting excited the week before my trip and did these nails which I found the idea for on Pinterest. I really wanted to post this and let you all know where I would be for the next few weeks, but I just didn't make it happen.

To do this mani I started with one coat of Savvy French White White, then put a stripe of Zoya Diana, Sinful Colors Envy, and Ulta Sun-Sational on top of that. I put the white as a base to help the other colors stand out a bit more. I added a coat of Seche Vite on top to make it dry faster.

Then when it was dry, I cut up strips of tape that I ordered on eBay and laid them in various patterns across my nail.

One nail at a time, I put a coat of Orly Liquid Vinyl on top, and then peeled off the tape while the nail was still wet.

After I was finished, I added a final coat of Seche Vite to smooth everything out! Thanks for looking - and being patient with my absence, and I will try and be back soon!
